It started with a simple idea.

To see how one piece could be worn, lived in, and captured, by different women, in different places, in their own way.

So we sent one dress around Australia,  passing it from photographer to photographer, from one woman to the next, each bringing their own light, their own story, their own way of seeing.

No strict brief. No over-styling.
Just a piece designed to move, to adapt, and to be worn in whatever felt right.

What came back wasn’t just a collection of images.
It was proof of something we’ve always believed:

That the right piece doesn’t define the moment,
it becomes part of it.

This is what it became, in different hands.

Stop 4 - Captured By Christie

The fourth stop on our Travelling Dress journey took us somewhere completely unexpected.

After winding its way across Australia, our Illoura Satin arrived in Karratha, Western Australia, where photographer Christie captured it against a landscape unlike any we've seen so far.

Wide open skies. Rust-coloured earth. Endless horizons.

It's not the backdrop most people imagine when they think of a flowing satin gown, and that's exactly what makes these images so special.

One of the things we've always loved about the Illoura is its ability to adapt. The same dress that feels at home in a garden, on a beach, or at a maternity session somehow feels equally at home amongst the rugged beauty of the Pilbara.

Christie brought a sense of freedom and movement to this stop of the journey. Captured running barefoot through the landscape, standing amongst weathered rocks and overlooking the water, these images feel effortless and alive. The satin catches the light beautifully, creating softness against the rawness of the surrounding landscape.

It's another reminder of what this project is really about.

Not just showcasing a dress, but seeing how one piece can become part of many different stories.

Different women.
Different locations.
Different moments.

One dress.

As the Travelling Dress continues its journey around Australia, we're continually reminded that beautiful clothing isn't about fitting into one setting or one season. The best pieces are the ones that make women feel beautiful wherever they are.

And for Stop 4, that place was Karratha.

Designed in Australia in limited runs, the Illoura Satin has become one of Co & Ry’s most-loved pieces for maternity photoshoots, motherhood sessions, and meaningful moments worth remembering. The satin catches light beautifully while still feeling soft, fluid, and easy to wear. With adjustable wrap ties and flowing fabric, the Illoura is intentionally versatile. Worn on or off the shoulder, layered over swimwear, styled barefoot at the beach or dressed up for golden hour, every photographer in this project interpreted it differently.

And that was the point.

Because the best pieces aren’t the ones worn once for a photo.
They’re the ones that become tied to memories afterwards.
