We sat down with the creator of The Bridal Box Co to chat about her unique timber keepsakes that are sure to be a memorable addition.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Creatively: Beautiful things, pretty things, I’m really into everything feminine & blush at the moment. I love creating my own content & photography so I spend a lot of my free time playing with my products and on Instagram. Insta is like a worm hole sometimes, you just keep finding new and creative products and pages and before you know it, hours have passed by!
Professionally: There's not much more we love to do than create. As a creative and entrepreneur, and with more than 20 years combined experience in both corporate and creative roles, I like to surround myself with like minded people. I attend a lot of inspiring events and listen to other women in business speak about their journey to success and hear them speak from the heart and even share their secrets and their failures. Everything that happens in our lives makes us who we are, and I just find it so inspiring to see how people got to where they are and from where they have come.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOU AND THE BRIDAL BOX CO?
I’m Bijour & I live in Northern NSW near Byron Bay with my husband and our beautiful son, Oliver. After years of working the corporate grind as a stylist & Interior Designer, I decided to turn my passion for design and gift giving into my own business. A couple of years back I started (and recently sold) a successful Hamper company but wanted to focus purely on the gifting experience between a Bride & Groom and their loved ones. That’s when The BRIDAL BOX Co. was born. Planning your wedding is stressful enough already, so we wanted to help Bride’s & Groom’s say “Thank You” to everyone involved in the most unique & personal way possible. We offer everything from Flower Girl to Mother of the Bride Gift Boxes. Every box is handmade by skilled craftsmen, using only the finest selection of timber. This gives every Bridal Box its own unique character & look; no two are alike. And since they’re built to last, they’ll serve as treasure troves for keepsakes & memorandums for years to come! Gifting is one of my greatest passions, and to help play a small part in what is the most important time in people’s lives is a blessing.
WHAT'S YOUR TYPICAL WORK DAY LIKE?
Racing the clock to get my little 1 year old Oli up out of bed, fed and ready for Kindy before I start my day packing orders, answering emails, instagramming this and Facebooking that. I run my biz from home and it is so easy to get distracted by people and household chores. At this stage I have a great work/life balance and am very lucky.
WHAT'S YOUR TIPS FOR THE PERFECT GIFT FOR YOUR BRIDAL PARTY?
I love it when Brides gift something that their Bridal party can all use together the night before or morning of the wedding, like a facial steam, Piccolo of Sparkling or a Silk Eye Pillow to help them all get their beauty sleep the night before the big day. I think it’s important to also gift something unique, thoughtful & timeless to their best friend and add something personal like a pair of earrings, bridal robe or a photo framed of the two of them. WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE WEDDING TREND RIGHT NOW?
I can’t even say how much I am in love with the unstructured flower bouquet trend at the moment! I just adore the wild, oversized and draping combination. It’s almost a foraged & handpicked look. I prefer them with lots of colourful flowers combined with the greenery but still – all of them are just to die for!
